First Annual Irene Dalis Vocal Competition

Please come and cheer me on as one of ten finalists in the First Annual Irene Dalis Vocal Competition at the California Theater in San Jose, CA tomorrow night, Friday June 1st.
The competition, which will take place at the elegant California Theatre located at 345 South First Street in downtown San José, will start at 7 p.m. on June 1 at the conclusion of the West Coast Auditions. The ten best singers chosen from the West Coast Auditions will be the featured finalists.


There will be three major prizes awarded:

1st Prize - $15,000
Second Prize - $10,000
Third Prize - $5,000

An Audience Favorite Award (to be voted on by the audience during final intermission) of $5,000 will also be presented, as well as an Encouragement Award of $1,000 each to the remaining Finalists.

The judges who will select the three top winners will include Peter Mark, artistic director of Virginia Opera, Diane Zola, artistic Administrator of Houston Grand Opera; and Christopher Hahn, artistic director of Pittsburgh Opera.
