Nicole Takesono - Biography

Nicole Takesono is one of Northern California's most exciting lyric Mezzo Sopranos.  Specializing in, but not limited to the lyric "pants role" repertoire, Ms. Takesono consistently dazzles and engages Opera audiences throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. 

Originally from Hawaii, Ms. Takesono earned her BA in Music from Tufts University. Most recently Ms. Takesono appeared with Mission City Opera as Second Lady in The Magic Flute.  Other roles performed are Second Shining One and Madam Wanton (Pilgrim’s Progress), Mercedes (Carmen), Flora (La Traviata), Hansel (Hansel and Gretel, Ida (Die Fledermaus), and Siébel (Faust).  She is also a member of the San Francisco Opera Chorus. 

No stranger to the concert stage, Ms. Takesono has appeared in several concerts around the area such as Sopianos in their annual concert of traditional Japanese songs, Broadway tunes, and Opera selections, San Jose State University’s performance of Bruckner’s “Te Deum”, Apollo Educational Touring Company’s performance of selections from Rigoletto, Der Rosenkavalier, and Cosi fan tutte.
